ChatGPT
ChatGPT supports MCP in Developer Mode (beta). Connect Handler to give ChatGPT access to live web data, B2B intelligence, and your connected services.
Setup
ChatGPT uses OAuth for MCP connections. No API keys needed — ChatGPT handles the authentication flow for you.
Open ChatGPT Settings
In ChatGPT, go to Settings (or the gear icon in the sidebar).
Add MCP Server
Navigate to the MCP or Integrations section and click Add a new MCP server. Enter the Handler MCP URL:
https://mcp.usehandler.dev/mcp
Authorize via OAuth
ChatGPT will redirect you to Handler's OAuth page. Log in with your Handler account and authorize the connection. Once complete, Handler superpowers appear as available tools in your ChatGPT conversations.
Limitations
Because ChatGPT's MCP support is still in beta, there are a few things to be aware of:
- OAuth only. ChatGPT does not support Bearer token authentication for MCP servers. You must use the OAuth flow.
- Availability may vary. MCP support may not be available on all ChatGPT plans or in all regions.
- Tool discovery. ChatGPT may not automatically suggest Handler tools. You may need to explicitly ask it to use a Handler superpower.
- Session persistence. MCP connections may need to be re-established between sessions depending on ChatGPT's session management.
Usage
Once connected, you can use Handler superpowers in any ChatGPT conversation. The same tools and capabilities are available as on any other platform:
// Research
"Use Handler to search for recent AI regulation news in the EU"
// B2B intelligence
"Use Handler to find the founders of Anthropic and their backgrounds"
// Market data
"Use Handler to get the current price and technicals for TSLA"
// Monitoring
"Use Handler to check Reddit for discussions about our product"
// Content generation
"Use Handler to generate a summary of this research"
